Pilot Practice-based Research for Primary Care Suicide Prevention Grant
This program provides grants to support rigorous evaluations of factors that impact or account for the effectiveness of existing suicide prevention practices and/or pilot clinical trials aimed at developing, optimizing, and pilot testing scalable patient-, provider-, and systems- level interventions and service delivery approaches for intervening at key intercepts in the chain of care. Proposals that seek to reduce disparities in outcomes for racial and ethnic minority groups, individuals limited by language or cultural barriers, sexual and gender minorities, individuals living in rural areas, socioeconomically disadvantaged persons, and other underserved groups are encouraged.
Research objectives include:
- Suicide risk identification, screening, and assessment
- Preventive and therapeutic interventions, including studies that develop and pilot test
- Strategies to promote service engagement/continuity, appropriate referral, and quality of care
